CLEANSING INSTRUCTIONS

Before Your Cleanse

Proper cleanse preparation will set you and your body up to not only get through your cleanse, but to reap optimal benefits a cleanse has to offer.  Adopting a few healthy habits at least three days leading up to your cleanse will allow your body to succeed in efficiently processing and absorbing the abundance of nutrients from the cleanse juices, ultimately releasing built-up toxins, leaving your body and mind with a clean slate and a healthier mentality.

 

Morning Lemon Water and Apple Cider Vinegar:

To help purify your body before your cleanse arrives, begin each day with a glass of warm water with lemon juice and Raw Apple Cider Vinegar. This will jump start the detoxification process and alkalize the body.

 

Hydration:

Make an extra effort to hydrate throughout your day with plenty of water. This helps your body more easily flush toxins, combats tiredness, and decreases cravings.

 

Nutrition:

To gracefully wean your body into consuming a raw juice diet, we recommend you take at least 3 days prior to your cleanse to cut out unnecessary and processed foods, and increase consumption of fresh and whole foods (reference the lists below):

 

Minimize and Eliminate the Following:

-Processed Foods

-Caffeine

-Alcohol, Nicotine, etc.

-Sugar

-Gluten/wheat

-Dairy

-Meat

 

These might sound like tough sacrifices to make, but it is necessary, and your body will thank you for it when you are done! There are still plenty of delicious and cleanse-appropriate foods you are encouraged to eat:

 

Maximize the Following:

-Whole Foods

-Raw Produce

-Fresh Fruits & Vegetables

-Fresh Salads (try Apple Cider Vinegar based Dressing!)

-Smoothies (Veggie and Fruit based)

-Veggie soups

-Fresh Juices

-Raw Seeds and nuts

-Whole grains like quinoa

-Superfoods! Chia seeds, Acai & Goji Berries, Maca, Spirulina, Wheatgrass, Hemp seeds, etc.

During Your Cleanse

The six daily juices in your cleanse are each labeled numerically according to the order in which you are supposed to drink them. You will drink #1 first in the morning, and you will drink #6 last in the evening - we recommend you consume #6 at least 2 hours before bed to allow your body time to digest. Most people drink their juices in intervals of about 2 hours throughout the day. However, everyone’s body is different and it is important that you do what your body tells you. If you are ready for your next drink a little sooner, then go ahead. If you are not hungry for your next juice, then hold off. If you lead a very active life and need an extra juice or 2 each day, absolutely add them! Juice Cleansing is not about deprivation. Your body will tell you what it needs.

Start your day with a cup of warm water with lemon juice and a tablespoon of raw apple cider vinegar. This will help alkalize your body and get the digestive and detox processes started. As soon as your body is ready for something more, start with your first juice.

Make an extra effort to hydrate throughout your day with plenty of water in addition to your juices. This helps your body more easily flush toxins, combats tiredness, and decreases cravings.

 

Commit to the Juices:

Aside from lots of water and herbal decaffeinated tea, it is recommended that you consume only the juices in your cleanse. This ensures that your cleansing experience is as enjoyable and effective as possible. It is especially essential to avoid alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, processed foods, meats, grains, and dairy. If your body is telling you that it absolutely needs to eat something, we encourage you to stick with fresh produce, seeds, and nuts.

 

Enhance Your Experience:

In addition to drinking your juices, there are many things you can do to optimize your cleanse experience:

 

- Staying hydrated (with water and herbal decaf tea)

 

- Plenty of sleep (stay rested, allow yourself to relax)

 

- Sweating  (exercise, sauna, steam, bath, etc.)

- Exfoliation (helps open skin pores, increases circulation)

- Meditation

 

- Light to Moderate Exercise (don’t over-exert yourself while cleansing - take a walk, do some gentle yoga)

- Massage (increase circulation, toxin release)

- Eliminate yourself whenever needed

 

- Timing (plan your cleanse when you won't be surrounded by temptation - do it with a friend or coworker!)

 

- Coconut Oil (for skin, hair, and oil pulling, and more!)

 

- Eliminate any chemicals from your life (use natural & organic household and beauty products, etc.)

 

- Activated Charcoal (consume for toxin removal, or brush with it for whiter teeth!)

 

- Get fresh air, have fun, smile, and stay positive!

 

Symptoms:

Some people experience detox symptoms which could include headaches, fatigue, etc. Typically, these symptoms gradually disappear as your body adjusts to the cleanse. Every person’s body reacts differently to the cleanse process. Some people experience a variety of symptoms, while others aren’t affected at all.

 

After Your Cleanse

Finishing a cleanse is extremely rewarding, both mentally and physically! After all of the work and dedication it took for you to succeed in your cleanse, wouldn’t it be great to maintain this new and healthier you? Transitioning out of your cleanse is very similar to preparing to begin a cleanse. It is important to take several days to ease back into eating food, and to follow the same principals you followed leading up to your cleanse.
